Roads & Maritime Services (RMS) is a large government body who control all roads and maritime related services in New South Wales. Roads and Maritime Services has a vast range of customers including individuals, private organisations, community groups, local councils and both State and Federal Governments. Roads and Maritime Services aims to build and maintain roads; conduct driving tests; issue licenses and registrations; and oversee harbours and waterways to create a streamlined, customer focused organisation to deliver essential frontline services to people who use roads, harbours and waterways.
After receiving and researching the tender requirements thoroughly it became clear that a large State Government organisation such as Roads & Maritime Services (RMS) required a service provider who could not only work well with the newly appointed facility management provider UGL, yet also required a service provider that was honest and transparent in their dealings with their clients and deliver on critical services.
With 250 offices in 52 countries and 56,000 employees, UGL reported $4.5bn in revenue last financial year and is one of the front runners in the asset management and maintenance industry requiring service providers that provide the best solutions at the most competitive cost.
SECOM Australia was invited to tender based on our reputation as a high level service provider and subsequently awarded the contract and now service a portfolio which comprises of 524 properties across NSW, Queensland and Victorian borders and from Pacific Ocean to South Australia covering an area of 809,444 square kilometers with a population of 7,272,800 residents.
